This is way up in Northern Israel, they uncovered these walls and gates of the Northern Kingdom when Solomon turned the kingdom over to Rehoboam, who was brutal. So his brother Jeroboam took 10 tribes north. He could have kept the 10 tribes and had his posterity continue forever if he obeyed commandments, but he was afraid his people would head south to the Temple at Jerusalem, so he built a golden calf to worship. The righteous left, he lost everything, and his 10 tribes were scattered and "lost."
